Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at our clinic, your daily responsibilities will encompass a range of critical tasks that are essential to ensuring effective patient outcomes:

• Direct physical therapy treatment towards preventing disability and relieving pain, while also developing, improving, and restoring muscle function according to each patient's specific care plan.
• Oversee the implementation of therapy plans by physical therapy assistants, ensuring the delivery of quality care.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients to assess their functional levels using diagnostic tests focused on muscle and nerve assessment, joint mobility, and overall functional abilities.
• Evaluate each patient's environment for potential rehabilitation, making personalized recommendations to enhance their independence.
• Administer various therapeutic modalities including manual therapeutic exercises, traction, and massage, while instructing patients in non-manual exercises to promote functional activity.
• Possess the ability to assess, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, making recommendations for modifications as needed.
• Participate in the ongoing development and review of individualized care plans, making necessary adjustments based on patient progress.
• Document clinical evaluations and records meticulously, including initial assessments, progress notes, care plans, and discharge summaries to ensure continuity of care.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary care conferences to discuss treatment approaches and progress, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding rehabilitation devices and their ongoing therapy programs.
• Complete functional assessments onsite and utilize community resources effectively in treatment planning.
• Fulfill other related duties as required to meet clinic objectives and enhance patient care experiences.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with orthopedic patients, including those recovering from surgery, injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will hold the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A valid Florida license to practice as a Physical Therapist, with a professional history reflecting a clean record without disciplinary actions.
