Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients referred by physicians, meticulously documenting their medical histories, current conditions, and goals for therapy.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment programs that include a variety of techniques, such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
• Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to compliance requirements using the facility's electronic health records system.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service by effectively communicating with patients and their families, answering questions, and addressing concerns regarding the treatment process.
• Collaborate with a wider healthcare team, including occupational therapists and medical staff, to optimize patient outcomes through coordinated care.
• Provide education and training to patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and health management techniques.
• Achieve minimum utilization goals and contribute to the facility's business objectives while maintaining high-quality care standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will primarily be on orthopedic patients, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. Additionally, you may engage with a diverse client base that includes pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine patients. This variability in patient demographics will enhance your clinical skill set, allowing for a comprehensive approach to therapy that addresses the unique needs of each patient.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA or CAPTE-accredited program.
• State License in Physical Therapy, allowing you to practice in Florida.
• Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association.
