Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, documenting case history and client progress from the initial consultation through to treatment completion.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health using standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
\n
• Develop and implement individualized intervention and recovery plans tailored to clients’ unique needs, including solutions for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to promote healing and resilience.
\n
• Regularly monitor and assess clients' progress throughout their treatment journey, making adjustments to plans as necessary to ensure effectiveness.
\n
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create cohesive intervention strategies.
\n
• Maintain proactive communication with external healthcare providers for clients requiring hospitalization or specialized services.
\n
• Identify and mitigate any behaviors or challenges that hinder clients’ recovery processes, providing education and support to mitigate these issues.

• Support and educate family members or primary caregivers about mental health strategies to manage their loved one's challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a licensed mental health counselor at South Western Behavioral Health Center, you will engage with a varied client population that includes children, adolescents, adults, and families managing diverse mental health concerns. These may include anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, addiction challenges, and more. By employing a client-centered approach, you will help individuals navigate their mental health journey with compassion and expertise.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proven experience in mental health counseling with a demonstrated track record of effective client outcomes.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to manage client documentation and treatment plans efficiently.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in handling complex mental health issues, including co-occurring physical and emotional health disorders, as well as addiction issues.

• Deep understanding of the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Knowledge of pharmacological substances and their effects as prescribed by physicians, ensuring comprehensive client care.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, alongside exceptional interpersonal qualities that foster rapport with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, along with a sign-on bonus.
