Work Environment\n

This position is set in a remote work environment, allowing flexibility and the convenience of working from home. However, the LCSW will engage regularly with students, parents, and school staff through virtual sessions. Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide direct clinical social work services to students experiencing major mental health issues or severe emotional disorders, including initial assessments and ongoing therapy.

• Develop and implement integrated care plans that address the specific needs of clients while ensuring collaboration with families and educational staff.
\n
• Conduct evidence-based screenings and wellness assessments to identify students needing immediate intervention or further evaluation.
\n
• Engage in crisis intervention efforts, deploying appropriate therapeutic techniques to stabilize students in distress.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client encounters, assessments, and treatment plans.
\n
• Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions tailored to the client’s presenting problems and requests for service.
\n
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss case progress, share insights, and enhance service delivery.

• Work proactively to promote mental health awareness within the school community through educational programs and workshops.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The LCSW will primarily work with a diverse population of students in Newport News, Virginia, who may be facing various challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and the impact of trauma. This role requires a deep commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity to the varying backgrounds and experiences of each student.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required; a Master's degree is preferable.

• A valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia.

• Minimum of two years of professional experience in a clinical or social work setting, preferably with adolescents.

• Proficient in the use of telehealth technologies and electronic health record systems.

• Experience working in school-based settings or with youth populations is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to USD 85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
