Work Environment

This position is to be filled onsite, primarily within a home care setting where you'll have the opportunity to work closely with patients in the comfort of their homes. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and functional abilities, highlighting limitations and setting realistic rehabilitation goals.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address each patient's specific needs, focusing on restoring mobility, minimizing pain, and improving strength.
• Monitor and record patients' progress through regular follow-ups and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Engage in clinical teaching to enhance the skills of interns, students, and other team members, contributing to a culture of learning within the organization.
• Initiate and participate in clinical research projects that align with your areas of expertise, under the guidance of the management team.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, aquatic therapy, manual therapy, and other modalities as appropriate for each patient's recovery process.
• Provide patient education and support to facilitate understanding and compliance with rehabilitation programs and strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopeadic patients recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic orthopedic conditions. You will work with diverse age groups, tailoring your approach to meet the unique considerations of each patient, from young athletes to elderly individuals managing osteoarthritis. Building rapport and demonstrating empathy will be essential in motivating patients effectively throughout their treatment journeys.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and active New Jersey State Physical Therapy License.
• Minimum of two years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for effective interactions and collaborations with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of physical therapy.

Preferred Experience

• Board certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy is highly desirable.
• Experience in home care settings and an understanding of home health policies and procedures is advantageous.
• A background in clinical teaching or mentorship for students and interns is a plus.
