Work Environment\n

The position offers a remote work setting, allowing therapists to support clients from the comfort of their own homes while utilizing our secure electronic health record (EHR) system for documentation and communication. Our work-from-home policy ensures a flexible schedule, primarily covering weekdays from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional adjustments based on client needs. While working independently, you will remain an integral part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team that values open communication and mutual support.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient’s trauma history and develop tailored treatment plans.

• Create and implement individualized treatment strategies that address the specific needs of clients working towards recovery from trauma.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions designed to help clients process their trauma, learn coping mechanisms, and promote overall wellness.

• Work in partnership with psychiatrists and other health professionals to provide integrated care and optimize the therapeutic experience for clients.

• Administer crisis interventions and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies as necessary.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping strategies, and available mental health resources within the community.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring timely updates in our EHR system.

• Engage in regular professional development through case consultations and team meetings focusing on trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay informed on the latest research and developments in trauma therapy to continuously enhance skills and offer the best care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary clientele at Kanza Mental Health and Behavioral Services consists of individuals affected by various forms of trauma, including those with PTSD, complex trauma, and related dissociative disorders. In this role, you will be making a meaningful impact in their lives, helping them navigate the challenges posed by their experiences and fostering their journey toward recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, with a focus on trauma-informed practices preferred.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and effective treatment modalities.

• Demonstrated expertise in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering trust and rapport in client relationships.

• Competency in using electronic health record systems and technology.

Preferred Experience\n

While the minimum requirement is 2 years of experience, candidates with additional expertise in trauma-focused methodology and group therapy facilitation will be strongly considered. Experience working with diverse populations and incorporating culturally sensitive practices into therapy will be an asset.

Compensation and Benefits\n
