Accounting Administrator

This is an important position within our company, as the person joining us will be stepping into a role held by a valued, long-time employee who is retiring. What You'll Do The Accounting Administrator will handle a combination of accounting, accounts receivable, customer service, and administrative responsibilities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Managing accounts receivable and assisting with customer account questions Contacting customers regarding outstanding balances and past-due accounts Handling collections in a professional, courteous, and relationship-focused manner Researching and resolving customer billing questions and discrepancies Entering and maintaining accurate accounting information in QuickBooks Preparing and organizing bank deposits Processing and reviewing customer payments Maintaining accurate customer account records Assisting with invoicing and other accounting-related responsibilities Working with our sales team on paperwork and administrative needs Helping ensure sales documentation and customer information are complete and accurate Communicating with customers, vendors, salespeople, technicians, and other members of our team Providing general administrative and accounting support as needed What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with numbers but is equally comfortable working with people. The right person will have: Previous experience with QuickBooks Experience with accounts receivable, bookkeeping, accounting administration, or a similar role Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Good written and verbal communication skills A friendly and professional approach when speaking with customers The ability to discuss overdue balances and billing issues without damaging customer relationships Confidence researching discrepancies and following an issue through to resolution Comfort handling checks, payments, and preparing deposits Basic proficiency with computers, email, and Microsoft Office The ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize work A willingness to help other departments when needed A dependable, team-oriented attitude More Than Just Collections An important part of this position is accounts receivable, but we are not looking for a high-pressure collections personality . Many of our customers have been with Smylie One for years. We want someone who can comfortably pick up the phone, discuss an outstanding invoice or billing problem, listen to the customer, research the issue, and work toward a solution while maintaining a positive relationship.
