We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist with a focus on child and adolescent care to join Positive Pathways Counseling Center in Joliet, Illinois. Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, offering you the flexibility to facilitate therapy sessions from your own space while maintaining a connection with our team at the office. You will be part of an environment that promotes collaboration and teamwork, pivotal for sharing insights and strategies to enhance patient treatment plans. Our practice operates from Monday to Friday with core hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and occasional evening shifts may be necessary based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to accurately evaluate the mental health needs of children and adolescents, utilizing a variety of techniques and standardized assessment tools.

• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans while taking into account the child's developmental milestones, family dynamics, and specific mental health challenges.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and family systems therapy to address diverse mental health issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Deliver family therapy sessions aimed at empowering parents and caregivers, equipping them with tools to foster supportive home environments.
\n
• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic and coordinated care for every young patient.
\n
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support to families navigating mental health emergencies.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment methodologies, and available community resources to improve accessibility to support systems.
\n
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in compliance with both ethical standards and legal requirements, utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system efficiently.

• Actively participate in team meetings and case consultations, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and shared learning.

• Stay updated on the latest research and best practices related to child and adolescent mental health to enhance treatment approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with children and adolescents facing a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral challenges. This role allows you to make meaningful connections with young individuals and their families, offering crucial support during pivotal developmental stages.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.
\n
• Demonstrated expertise in understanding child and adolescent mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.
\n
• Experience providing therapy, both individually and to families, specifically tailored towards younger populations.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on building rapport with children, adolescents, and their families.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and related software necessary for documentation and treatment planning.
\n
• A collaborative mindset with a commitment to teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in mental health counseling, specifically focused on child and adolescent populations.

• Previous experience with family therapy or community-based mental health services is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $105,000 annually, accompanied by performance bonuses. We also offer a competitive sign-on bonus, making this an attractive opportunity for qualified candidates.
