Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial interviews, assessing clients’ emotional and behavioral health to inform treatment strategies.

• Develop customized treatment plans tailored to meet the needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, applying evidence-based practices and methodologies.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage dialogue and healing, fostering a safe space for clients to share their experiences.

• Monitor and document client progress throughout treatment phases, adjusting intervention plans as necessary to enhance effectiveness.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical professionals, to manage referrals and comprehensive care plans effectively.

• Follow up on clients' progress with inpatient care teams when hospitalization is necessary, ensuring continuity of care during critical transitions.

• Educate and support family members to assist them in managing mental health challenges within the household, promoting a holistic approach to recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Central Park Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, and adults facing a range of psychological challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and relationship issues. Our goal is to empower each client to develop coping strategies and resilience while improving overall mental health outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• A current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interactions with clients and colleagues.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of experience as a mental health counselor is preferred, with an emphasis on working with addiction disorders and dual diagnosis clients.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.

• In-depth understanding of prescribed pharmacotherapy and its impacts on mental health.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills characterized by a sympathetic and compassionate demeanor when dealing with clients.
