As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Guard in Miami, FL , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $22.26 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTime Thur 07:00 AM – 07:00 PM How This Role Works Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through appropriate channels. Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations. Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and report unusual activity, suspicious behavior, and/or potential hazards. Support law enforcement, first responders, and/or site leadership during emergencies, investigations, evacuations, and other security‑related incidents as directed. Minimum Requirements Possess a college degree. Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED. Be at least 21 years of age. Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge or an Associate’s Degree or 60 college credits or a Police Academy Certificate or a Corrections Academy Certificate. A guard card or license is preferred. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry‑specific security training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
