Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments to understand the mental, emotional, and behavioral health conditions of clients, documenting all findings accurately from the first consultation through to discharge.

• Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs, leveraging evidence-based interventions and best practices in therapy.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions tailored to various populations, including adults, adolescents, and families.
\n
• Monitor and track client progress regularly through follow-up assessments, adjusting therapy plans as necessary based on their evolving needs.

• Work with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and social workers, to create cohesive intervention strategies that support comprehensive care.

• Assist clients and their families in recognizing and managing behaviors that may hinder recovery, offering support and education where needed.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting is required.
\n
• Proficient in utilizing electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, for case documentation and management.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with complex mental health conditions and co-occurring disorders, including substance use disorders.

• Strong understanding of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) practices and ethical guidelines.

• Ability to effectively communicate the implications of medications prescribed by other medical professionals to clients.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on building relationships.

• Outstanding interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to empathize with clients' experiences.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
