Lead Software Engineer - Java & Linux Security

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least five years of applied experience.
• Were looking for hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability.
• You should have advanced Java and Shell scripting skills, with strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design, and design patterns.
• You should have experience with Linux-based systems, automation, and continuous delivery methods.
• You should understand authentication, authorization, encryption, and role- and attribute-based access controls (RBAC and ABAC).
• You should have advanced knowledge of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and the full software development life cycle.
• You should have practical experience with cloud-native technologies and real-time messaging.
• You should have experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and technical disciplines such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
• You should have experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for activities such as coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting, and setting standards for validating AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• You should understand responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption is also required.
• We prefer candidates with in-depth knowledge of financial services and its IT systems.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms and solutions is preferred.
• Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of infrastructure, including operating systems, networks, and storage, as well as SRE skills in monitoring and observability, is preferred.
• Python experience is preferred.

• We write secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We identify recurring issues and opportunities to automate or eliminate remediation to improve application and system stability.
• We lead evaluations with external vendors, startups, and internal teams, assessing architectural designs, technical capabilities, and suitability for existing systems and information architecture.
• We lead Software Engineering communities of practice to encourage awareness and adoption of emerging technologies.
• We guide the teams use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while setting validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing and promoting reusable patterns.
• We use software development life cycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation.
