Work Environment\n

The work setting for this position is unique and flexible, primarily remote yet involving outpatient interactions when necessary. This allows therapists to manage their schedules effectively, tailoring their working hours to meet client needs, particularly during after-school hours from 4 PM to 7 PM. While therapists may work from home, they will also have access to an outpatient office for in-person therapy sessions when needed.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual or group therapy sessions in-home or at the outpatient office, adapting interventions to meet the specific needs of each child and family.

• Implement targeted therapeutic techniques aimed at enhancing anger management, coping strategies, and social skills while reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Provide strategic guidance to caregivers, enhancing their decision-making abilities to navigate in-home behavioral challenges effectively.
\n
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care for each youth and their family.
\n
• Maintain detailed documentation in accordance with organizational policies, including timely completion of intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress, share insights, and submit recommendations for ongoing care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily serves children aged 3 to 20 who have been diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as their families. Working with this vulnerable population requires a deep understanding of their unique challenges and strengths, enabling you to provide tailored therapeutic services that foster growth and development.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related mental health field is required.
\n
• Possession of an active and unrestricted LMFT license to practice in the state of Massachusetts.
\n
• A commitment to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during peak after-school hours, with additional flexibility on weekends being advantageous.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavioral support and effective interventions for children with emotional and behavioral challenges.

• A background in working with the child population with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle to facilitate travel for in-home sessions.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, inclusive of fingerprinting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
