Step into a pivotal role as a Special Education Teacher and Director, shaping exceptional learning experiences for K-12 students and leading the development of special education programs. Based in a welcoming and supportive district, you’ll work directly with a manageable caseload of 10-18 students, ensuring each learner receives the individualized attention and support they deserve.
This full-time contract position begins immediately and extends through June 18, 2027, starting at 35 hours per week with an increase to 40 hours per week after Labor Day. You’ll play a vital role, both in providing direct instruction and in overseeing all special education programming and compliance responsibilities across the school.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Demonstrated experience working with K-12 special education students
- Proven ability to manage and adapt curriculum for learners with diverse needs
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
- Skills in team leadership, collaboration, and communication
- Previous experience as a Special Education Director or in a related administrative capacity is highly valued
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students with special needs
- Oversee and direct special education services throughout the school
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
- Lead and support a dedicated team of educators and support staff
- Manage caseload, including progress monitoring, reporting, and family communication
- Collaborate with administrators, general education staff, and outside agencies as needed
