Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Shelby County Counseling Center, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to understand client needs and develop tailored treatment plans that include crisis intervention strategies, behavioral guidelines, and medication management.

• Documenting all client interactions and treatment plans in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.

• Utilizing evidence-based screening tools and methodologies in partnership with the clinical team to ensure that clients receive the most effective and appropriate care.

• Collaborating with various programs and team members to create and implement positive behavioral support plans that align with each client's goals.
\n
• Participating actively in licensing and accreditation processes to maintain high standards of care and professional development.
\n
• Serving as a liaison with state agencies, service systems, and community partners to coordinate resources and enhance client outcomes.

• Fostering communication within the organization and the broader community to promote and align with the mission of the Shelby County Counseling Center.
\n
• Building partnerships with local, state, federal, and private organizations to identify funding opportunities and enhance program reach.

• Engaging in ongoing personal and professional development, attending relevant training, and representing the agency in community meetings and task forces.

• Embodying and promoting the agency's mission, values, and philosophy in all interactions.

• Performing additional duties as assigned by the Clinic Director to meet operational needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse array of clients including those dealing with emotional distress, substance use issues, and developmental disabilities. Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master's Degree in a mental health-related field.

• An independent LMHC license, valid in Massachusetts or the ability to obtain licensure through our reimbursement program for out-of-state professionals.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, experience in community health settings or with specific populations such as those with substance use disorders, developmental disabilities, or complex mental health needs will be advantageous. Familiarity with evidence-based treatment models will also be beneficial in optimizing client care.
