Key Responsibilities\n

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will primarily engage in the following essential duties:

• Conduct thorough psychological assessments to determine client mental health status and needs, employing proven methodologies such as standardized testing and observational evaluations.

• Create and implement individualized treatment plans that utilize evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness strategies tailored to support the distinct experiences of cancer patients.

• Document all therapy sessions meticulously, maintaining up-to-date client records including treatment plans, progress notes, and any relevant communication with clients and caregivers.

• Provide flexible counseling options, offering both in-person and virtual sessions, thereby accommodating individual, couples, or family sessions tailored to client preferences and requirements.

• Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings aimed at ensuring holistic patient care and intervention strategies that are conducive to each client’s recovery journey.

• Stay informed about the latest advancements in mental health practices and integrate relevant research findings into clinical practice to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.

• Prioritize client confidentiality and adhere strictly to ethical standards in all interactions within and outside the organization.

• Engage in continuous professional development opportunities, enhancing therapeutic approaches and client interaction methods through workshops, conferences, and training.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses primarily on cancer patients at various stages of their journey—whether newly diagnosed, managing ongoing treatment, navigating recurrences, or seeking support through survivorship or end-of-life care. Counselors play a pivotal role in employing psychosocial assessments and therapeutic interventions that address the emotional and mental health dimensions of each unique experience.

Qualifications\n

• Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related field.

• Current licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) per state regulations.

• Authorization to work in the United States.

Compensation and Benefits\n
