AUDITOR (CLASS CODE 0426)

Responsibilities Responsible for professional auditing work, supervising subordinate auditing personnel, and performing financial and operational audits of a complex nature. May also perform related work as required. Qualifications Permanent status as an Auditor Assistant with the City of New Orleans or Sewerage and Water Board and one (1) year of experience in that classification. Either a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, or a Bachelor’s Degree in another field with at least fifteen (15) semester hours of accounting and nine (9) additional hours in economics, management, or another business‑related course from an accredited college or university. One (1) year of professional auditing experience. Possession of a current Certified Public Accountant Certificate in Louisiana may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. Valid driver’s license may be required for some positions. Prior to appointment, the hiring agency will verify degrees, licenses, and certifications; applicants must provide original documents upon hire. Experience gained within the last ten (10) years will be credited.
