Key Responsibilities\n

• Your primary duty will be to conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of patients and their families, identifying emotional, social, and environmental factors that impact their health and well-being.

• You will design, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions that include crisis intervention, brief and long-term therapy, as well as group and family counseling.

• Collaboration with healthcare providers will be essential as you engage in regular case reviews with physicians and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

• You will facilitate discharge planning, working alongside healthcare teams and third-party payers to ensure that patients leave the facility with appropriate resources and support systems in place.

• Educational initiatives will also be part of your role, providing counseling sessions for patients and families to help them adapt to their health challenges and life changes.

• As a part of your responsibilities, you may be involved in community outreach, providing education and facilitating resources for cancer survivors and their families to foster resilience and recovery.

• You will also have opportunities to present at conferences, sharing your expertise in psychosocial oncology practice and contributing to the professional development of fellow social workers.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with patients dealing with various health issues, including cancer and chronic illnesses, and their families. Understanding their unique challenges will be critical in delivering empathetic and effective care. By working closely with oncology patients, you will address psychosocial factors related to their diagnosis, treatment experiences, and the emotional burden that often accompanies serious illnesses.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) is required; a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) and LCSW licensure is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary range for this position is competitively set between USD 70,000 and 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
