Key Responsibilities\n

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting one-on-one in-home therapy sessions or delivering group therapy in our outpatient center, focusing on tailored therapeutic strategies for each child.

• Implementing structured interventions, including anger management techniques and coping strategies, to help reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Guiding children and caregivers in enhancing their decision-making skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges at home.
\n
• Collaborating closely with the Child Family Treatment Team to ensure consistent support and the integration of services among various professionals involved in the child's care.
\n
• Documenting all treatment activities meticulously and timely, including intake processes, individualized treatment plans, and progress notes.
\n
• Participating in monthly team meetings to share insights, report on client progress, and provide professional recommendations based on observed outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on working with children and teens aged 3 to 20 who experience developmental disabilities, intellectual challenges, and associated behavioral health issues. Your therapy will support young clients navigating social, emotional, and behavioral hurdles, with particular attention paid to the needs of bilingual Spanish or Portuguese speakers. This role is instrumental in enhancing the wellbeing of children while also providing guidance and support to their families.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related discipline is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Maryland is mandatory.

• A minimum availability of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with some weekend availability preferred.

• Proficiency in bilingual therapy is a plus, particularly in Spanish or Portuguese.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, registered vehicle are essential for travel to clients’ homes.

• A successful completion of a criminal background check and fingerprinting is required for employment.

Preferred Experience\n

We highly value candidates who bring prior experience in providing positive behavior support and those who have worked specifically with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Experience in providing therapy within team-driven environments or community-based settings is also advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits\n
