Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the implementation of individualized therapy programs aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, restoring muscle function, and maximizing patient performance according to established treatment plans.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities, employing diagnostic tests to assess muscle, nerve, and joint function, which serve as the basis for the treatment strategy.
• Collaborate with physical therapy assistants to ensure the appropriate and effective execution of therapy plans, while supervising their contributions as per state regulations.
• Design and recommend adjustments to rehabilitation environments that promote independence and enhance patient safety during therapy practices.
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic exercises and guidance in functional activities, fostering engagement through motivational techniques, thereby assisting patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
• Utilize modalities such as traction, massage, and physical agents to facilitate recovery and improve patient mobility.
• Assess the need for and fit patients with orthotic and prosthetic devices, working in conjunction with other medical professionals to make necessary modifications.
• Document patient progress meticulously, preparing clinical records, care plans, and progress notes that are integral to charting the effectiveness of treatment regimens.
• Engage actively in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to comprehensive treatment planning and overall patient care discussions.
• Instruct patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and the proper use of aids, enhancing their understanding of the rehabilitation process.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, ensuring that documentation, orders, and case management practices adhere to branch policies.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to physical therapy assistants, promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
• Perform on-site assessments to ensure that client care plans remain effective and relevant to the evolving needs of the patient.
• Respond promptly and effectively to any changes in patient conditions, adjusting treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the healthcare team as necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work directly with a varied patient population, ranging from post-surgical patients to individuals with chronic conditions affecting mobility and physical health. Your efforts will be directed towards creating tailored physical therapy interventions that accommodate the unique challenges and goals of each patient, ensuring that they receive the highest standard of care.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist in good standing.
• Minimum of one year of professional experience in a physical therapy role, particularly in an acute care or home care setting.
• Certified in CPR and knowledgeable in federal, state, and governing agency policies surrounding physical therapy practice.
• A demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence and the well-being of patients.
• Strong interpersonal skills paired with a positive attitude to foster teamwork and enhance patient interactions.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
