Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders, evaluating their needs and establishing clear recovery goals.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that include evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address specific patient needs.

• Deliver one-on-one counseling sessions utilizing motivational interviewing techniques and cognitive-behavioral therapy approaches that foster a supportive environment for patient expression.

• Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions that encourage peer interaction and support, helping participants share their experiences and learn from one another.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and other mental health professionals to coordinate care and discuss patient progress and challenges.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support to patients experiencing substance-related emergencies, utilizing quick assessment skills to determine the necessary level of care.

• Educate patients and their families on addiction, recovery strategies, and available community resources to empower them in their recovery journey.

• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards by maintaining accurate, confidential documentation of patient progress and treatment interventions.

• Engage in team meetings, case consultations, and continuing education opportunities to stay informed about best practices and emerging treatments in the field.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is to support clients experiencing substance use disorders. You will interact with a diverse range of patients, including adolescents and adults, each facing unique challenges as they work to rebuild their lives. Establishing trust and rapport with patients of different backgrounds will be critical to their success and your fulfillment in this role.

Qualifications\n

• A valid Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
\n
• Proficiency in understanding substance use disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Demonstrated experience delivering both individual and group therapy within addiction treatment settings.

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills characterized by empathy and a non-judgmental approach.
\n
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and adhere strictly to ethical guidelines concerning patient care.

• Comfortable using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other technological tools to facilitate patient care.

• Strong collaborative skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
