Balanced Being Psychotherapy Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis in a remote capacity. Our ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to improving the mental wellness of our clients. This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, along with a sign-on bonus. The counselor will conduct thorough mental health evaluations, develop personalized treatment strategies, and lead both individual and group therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations including preliminary interviews, and document each case meticulously from the initial consultation through to treatment completion, ensuring continuity of care.

• Evaluate and assess clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health status to identify their specific needs and develop targeted treatment plans.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities and techniques tailored to diverse client needs.
\n
• Monitor clients’ progress throughout the treatment process, adapting strategies as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including other mental health specialists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
\n
• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding clients admitted to hospitals, addressing any urgent care needs as they arise.
\n
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement proactive measures to mitigate harmful behaviors that could impede progress.
\n
• Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers, helping them manage the mental health challenges of their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be assisting individuals facing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. You will work with a diverse client base, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, ensuring that your interventions are culturally competent and tailored to each individual’s unique context.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Active, valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor is highly desired, with a demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based practices in a variety of clinical settings.

• Experience working with clients presenting with both mental health and comorbid physical health conditions.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines.

• Strong understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications as prescribed by medical specialists.
