Key Responsibilities

• Direct the physical therapy treatment process aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, restoring muscle function, and optimizing performance within the client's capabilities.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients utilizing a variety of diagnostic tests to assess muscle, joint, and neuromuscular functionality, guiding the treatment plan.
• Oversee and provide guidance to Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure effective implementation of care plans, ensuring high standards are met throughout treatment.
• Create individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings, ensuring alignment with medical prescriptions.
• Administer manual therapy techniques, traction, and other modalities as indicated by treatment goals.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate prosthetic and orthotic devices, coordinating with physicians to include modifications that enhance client independence.
• Engage in multi-disciplinary collaboration for case conferences, discussing total treatment approaches and evaluating progress with healthcare team members.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries to track client improvements and inform ongoing care strategies.
• Instruct clients and their families on the use of therapy devices and programs, fostering independence in their recovery process.
• Conduct on-site functional assessments and plan adjustments to treatment strategies based on real-time evaluations.
• Complete administrative tasks diligently, including submitting documentation for clinical records and payroll to adhere to organizational policies and timelines.
• Support the organization's goals by taking on additional assignments as requested, contributing to an environment of teamwork and cooperation.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse array of patients who may be recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions that impact mobility and functionality. We prioritize a holistic, patient-centered approach to care, which includes actively listening to our clients and involving them in their treatment plans. By evaluating home environments, you will make recommendations that encourage independence and facilitate a smoother rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• Possession of an active Physical Therapist license in the state of New Jersey, with no history of sanctions or board proceedings.
• Exceptional skills in manual therapy techniques along with proven success in developing effective exercise regimens tailored to individual patient needs.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, especially WebPT, for accurate documentation and efficient patient management.
• Current knowledge of evidence-based physical therapy practices and the ability to apply these in treatment sessions.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in a rehabilitation facility or acute care setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with inter-professional collaboration among healthcare providers.
• Experience with home health care or geriatrics is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
