Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Valera, your core responsibilities will include:

• Directing and implementing individualized physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and enhancing patient mobility and functionality.
• Overseeing the work of Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure consistent adherence to treatment plans and protocols.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical abilities through a series of targeted assessments and therapeutic exercises.
• Assessing patient homes for optimal rehabilitation settings and making practical recommendations to increase their independence.
• Administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapies, and necessary medical interventions as specified in physician orders.
• Utilizing physical agents for treatment and ensuring the effective use of prosthetic and orthotic devices as needed.
• Participating actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress, revise treatment plans, and advocate for patient needs.
• Maintaining detailed clinical records and documentation for initial evaluations, care plans, and ongoing progress to contribute to a comprehensive patient care approach.
• Providing guidance to patients and families on therapy techniques, equipment usage, and overall wellness.
• Completing additional assignments and participating in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and an active PT licensure in New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably within home care or rehabilitation environments.
• Current certifications in CPR and basic life support.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will also have:

• Experience in managing diverse patient populations and familiarity with home healthcare protocols.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate record-keeping and patient management.
• Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to mentor Physical Therapy Assistants effectively.

Compensation and Benefits
