About the Team

The Platform Innovation Sales Development team supports and scales DoorDash's newest suite of platform products by connecting restaurant operators with powerful tools to run their operations and grow their business. As part of DoorDash's broader sales organization, this team plays a critical role in driving top-of-funnel growth and building strong, hyper-local relationships with restaurants across the U.S. We help operators adopt a new class of SaaS and operational solutions, ones that pair front-line restaurant technology with DoorDash's built-in demand, to fuel long-term success.

About the Role

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you'll be the first point of contact for restaurant operators exploring DoorDash's Platform Innovation solutions. You'll own the early stages of the sales process: researching prospects, identifying decision-makers, qualifying interest, and securing meetings for field sales partners across your assigned region.

This role is ideal for someone who is energized by high-volume outreach, enjoys uncovering opportunities through conversation, and wants to build a strong foundation in sales. You'll bring discipline and creativity to your outreach while gaining exposure to both inside and field sales motions within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

You'll work closely with Sales leadership and field sellers to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified opportunities, while building core skills in prospecting, discovery, and storytelling.

You will report to the Director of Platform Innovation Sales within the Restaurant Success organization.

We expect this role to be flexible, with some time in office and some time remote. You will need the ability to travel as needed for in-person collaboration through trainings, offsites, team-building events, and other business-related necessities.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will

  • Prospect and qualify new merchants: Identify, contact, and qualify restaurant operators and key decision-makers through targeted outreach
  • Drive high-volume outreach: Conduct consistent cold calling (including high daily dial volume), and email outreach to generate interest and book qualified meetings
  • Partner with field sales: Collaborate closely with field sales reps to set meetings that move opportunities forward
  • Manage pipeline effectively: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM and utilize the sales tech stack to operate efficiently
  • Refine sales skills: Continuously improve messaging, discovery, and qualifying techniques through feedback and practice
  • Build industry knowledge: Develop expertise in DoorDash's Platform Innovation products, restaurant operations, and consultative selling

We're excited about you because you have

  • 2+ year of experience: In a sales or customer-facing role; high-volume outbound or cold calling experience is a strong plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to spark engaging conversations
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment with daily activity targets
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing leads and outreach
  • Familiarity with CRM and sales-engagement tools like Salesforce and Outreach, and productivity tools such as Google Workspace
  • A proactive, coachable mindset with a desire to learn, adapt, and grow within a sales organization
  • Interest in restaurants, restaurant technology, or SaaS and technology-enabled services; exposure to hardware or restaurant operating technology is a plus

Compensation Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location. In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for sales commission. For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
