Your work will be enhanced by utilizing the EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) system, streamlining documentation and patient tracking.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' mental health needs, focusing on the emotional, psychological, and behavioral aspects related to obesity and binge eating.

• Utilize standardized diagnostic assessments to identify appropriate treatment modalities aligned with each patient’s concerns.

• Facilitate one-on-one therapy sessions, where you will address the psychological factors that affect eating behaviors and weight loss.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that cater to patients’ unique goals, preferences, and challenges.

• Educate patients on the mental health dimensions of weight management, including body image, self-esteem issues, and stress coping mechanisms.

• Empower individuals to achieve sustainable behavioral transformations through strategies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing.

• Lead and co-facilitate group therapy sessions for weight management, providing a supportive space for peer interaction and shared learning.

• Regularly evaluate and document patient progress towards therapeutic goals, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as new needs arise.

• Stay current with relevant research and best practices in mental health counseling, especially in the area of weight management.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with individuals facing obesity and binge eating disorders. Qualifications\n

• A master’s degree in mental health counseling or a related field is preferred.

• Possession of a valid and unrestricted Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in New York.

• Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal communication, essential for effective patient interaction.

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds occasionally, as needed in a counseling environment.

• Visual acuity that meets the demands of the role, including the capacity for near and distance vision, color discrimination, and depth perception.

We offer a competitive salary range from USD 90,000 to 105,000 per year.
