Work Environment

This role is onsite at a school facility, where the emphasis is placed on creating a safe and welcoming environment for students and their families. Working regular business hours from 9 AM to 5 PM, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be a key part of a multidisciplinary team that includes educators, social workers, and medical professionals, all dedicated to addressing both mental and physical health needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations to diagnose a range of mental health conditions in students.
• Implement evidence-based treatment plans, providing medication management while closely monitoring treatment efficacy.
• Collaborate proactively with primary care providers and educational staff to ensure cohesive care for students.
• Offer crisis intervention during emotional distress, providing timely support and guidance.
• Engage in community outreach initiatives to educate families on mental health topics and services available.
• Deliver counseling and psychoeducation to students, empowering them with tools to cope with challenges.
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential patient records, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will primarily serve a diverse population of students and their families, addressing a spectrum of mental health issues from anxiety and depression to trauma-related conditions. This role emphasizes cultural competence, ensuring that care is tailored to meet the varied needs of individuals from different backgrounds.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

Compensation and Benefits
