This position allows for flexible remote work arrangements, catering to the needs of both clients and professionals. Your work will primarily take place in collaboration with school administrators and educators to ensure that psychological support is integrated into the educational environment. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of students to identify their emotional, social, and educational needs, tailoring interventions based on these evaluations.

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, and grief.
\n
• Collaborate with educational staff and parents to develop and implement support plans that foster academic success and emotional wellness.
\n
• Coordinate necessary post-discharge or external support services with community organizations to ensure seamless transitions and continued care for students.
\n
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all assessments, interventions, and progress in accordance with legal and organizational policies.

• Engage in crisis intervention activities, offering immediate support to students in distress while working collaboratively with school staff to ensure a safe learning environment.

• Participate in school meetings and committees to contribute professional insights regarding student well-being and the impact of mental health issues on educational outcomes.

• Advocate for students’ mental health needs within the school system, providing resources and information to educators and families.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on students who may be facing various emotional and social challenges. This includes at-risk youth, students experiencing trauma, adjustment issues, and those with diagnosed mental health conditions. Recognizing the multicultural dynamics of the school population in Schenectady, you will tailor your therapeutic approaches to resonate with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required.

• Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

• Demonstrated competency in crisis intervention techniques and knowledge of mental health disorders.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students, families, and educators.

Compensation and Benefits\n
