Work Environment\n

This full-time position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility to conduct both individual and group therapy sessions from the comfort of your home or an outpatient center. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in the clients' homes or facilitate group therapy sessions in the outpatient clinic setting.
\n
• Implement therapeutic techniques aimed at improving anger management, developing coping strategies, enhancing social skills, and reducing high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Support caregivers in improving their decision-making skills, enabling them to effectively manage behavioral challenges within the home environment.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and various professionals, such as educators and social workers, to create a multidisciplinary approach to each client’s care.
\n
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all therapeutic services, including client intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to all deadlines to ensure seamless care delivery.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress and provide constructive recommendations for care strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this role will be on serving children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are experiencing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will engage with a diverse array of clients, offering personalized interventions that respect each child's unique circumstances, cultural background, and specific therapeutic needs. Your work will directly impact the children’s emotional, behavioral, and social functioning, enhancing their overall developmental trajectory.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of New York is mandatory.
\n
• You must be available to provide a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, specifically during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with flexibility for weekend sessions considered a positive asset.

• Experience in providing positive behavior support is essential.
\n
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with families, children, and interdisciplinary teams.

• A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for home visits are required.
\n
• A background check, including fingerprinting, will be mandated.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), will be highly regarded.

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is an advantage and will enable more effective communication with our diverse client population.

Compensation and Benefits\n
