Key Responsibilities\n

• Deliver individualized in-home therapy sessions or facilitate group therapy within our outpatient center, focusing on client-specific challenges.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to assist children in developing anger management strategies, coping skills, and improved social interactions.
\n
• Emphasize the reduction of high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behaviors (SIB) or physical aggression, through personalized behavioral plans.
\n
• Enhance decision-making capabilities for both youth and caretakers to tackle behavioral issues at home effectively.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team, ensuring all professionals involved are aligned in their approach to support.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in accordance with established timelines.
\n
• Participate actively in monthly meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on your therapeutic observations and interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on children aged 3 to 20 years, especially those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will work with a diverse cross-section of clients and their families, assisting them in managing complex emotional and behavioral challenges. Your expertise will be critical in creating a nurturing environment that supports both the child and their caregivers.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
\n
• Possession of an active and unrestricted LMFT license.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with additional weekend availability being a plus.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are required for in-home sessions.
\n
• Successfully pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience providing positive behavior support strategies.
\n
• Background working with children with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) or similar specialized populations.

• Familiarity with bilingual therapy—proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred to better serve our diverse client base.
