To learn more about us, please visit our website at The Litigation Paralegal works closely with attorneys on a full spectrum of clients within the general litigation and ERISA practice groups. Some of the key anticipated responsibilities are listed below.Requesting experience in most of the areas shown below. It doesn't need to be all but also needs the right attitude to dig in and become experienced in these areas if they aren't familiar.The building and construction industry exemption.Transactions to evade or avoid withdrawal liability.Successor, alter ego, and single-employer liability.Partial withdrawals (70% declines, bargaining outs, facility takeouts).Calculation of withdrawal liability.Controlled group liability.Interplay between ERISA and Bankruptcy Code.Enforcement of "pay now, dispute later" rule.Laches.Recover delinquent contributions from active employers. Please note that we champion the development of all roles. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSHigh school or equivalent.Three (3) or more years of experience working as a Paralegal in a related area of law.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with the ability to create, edit, and format complex documents and spreadsheets.Strong proficiency in Docusign and Adobe. BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONSActive Notary.Experience with an electronic document management system like iManage.Experience with a billing and timekeeping software like Aderant.Experience with Relativity, CaseMap, TrialMap, or Trial Director.Experience with billable hours expectation.Federal court experience.Experience with clients in trades like Boilermaker, Ironworkers, and Steelworkers.Experience supporting practices that deal with withdrawal liability, delinquent benefit contributions, fiduciary claims, asset and stock sales, employment Law, ERISA matters. ATTRIBUTES OF SUCCESS Analytical Detail Oriented Adaptable ResourcefulIndependently Motivated Communication Skills Critical Thinker Interpersonal Skills Organization WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to:Limited travel to worksites beyond the corporate office, representing Tucker Arensberg, P.C. Will perform sedentary work exerting up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move object. Must see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; kneeling, standing, walking, crouching, stooping, reaching, and other similar tasks requiring physical activity. Will operate a computer, fax, copier, and telephone. Work is generally performed in a temperature controlled office environment. REGULAR SCHEDULEThis is an onsite hourly full-time position with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday work hours.
