Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring OH or compact RN license and ventilator management experience.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool role covering a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity
• Potential units include Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, and SICU/MICU/NCCU
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Float requirement limited to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC required
• Required skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties including neuro, surgical, medical, cardiovascular, and cardiac ICUs
• Flexible floating to all units based on facility needs
• Candidates must complete Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting as soon as they accept an offer, including lifetime background checks
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
