About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU – Ohio

Start Date: December 14, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement; 2:1 patient ratio across all shifts; float capability required within organization as needed

Highlights:

• Specialized Neuro ICU caring for complex neurological conditions including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, neuromuscular diseases, meningitis, and post-operative neurosurgery patients
• Exposure to advanced bedside procedures including tracheostomy, PEG placement, central and arterial line insertion, and EVD placement
• Experience with invasive neuromonitoring (EVD and ICP monitoring), mechanically ventilated patients, and EEG monitoring
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, Lift Teams, and Rapid Response Teams
• Travel nursing assignment with two pre-approved time-off periods available
• Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited programs required

Requirements:

• Minimum 2+ years of RN experience with strong Neuro ICU background; previous travel experience required
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG, IV insulin protocols, port access/management, arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, CVA/acute stroke management, and post-neurosurgery care preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership role
• Ability to complete urgent fingerprinting requirements for Ohio compliance
