Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions or group therapy sessions within our outpatient center, designed specifically to address the unique needs of children and youth.

• Facilitate therapeutic interventions that target angermanagement and coping strategies while promoting social skills to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injury and physical aggression.
\n
• Assist parents and caregivers in improving decision-making competencies to effectively manage in-home behavioral challenges, providing guidance tailored to their unique situations.
\n
• Collaborate systematically with the Child Family Treatment Team and intersecting professionals, ensuring a cohesive support network around each client.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation of all therapy sessions, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with clinic timelines and standards.

• Participate actively in monthly team meetings and contribute insightful recommendations based on ongoing assessments of client progress.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work primarily with children aged 3 to 20, many of whom are diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The variety in clientele means that you will encounter a diverse cross-section of children with exceptional needs, providing a dynamic and rewarding therapeutic experience. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing their quality of life and fostering resilience within their families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential for this role.

• A minimum availability of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm) is required; weekend availability is a favorable asset.

• A valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle for travel to client homes or community locations.
\n
• All applicants must pass a comprehensive criminal background check, inclusive of fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and therapeutic interventions for children with behavioral challenges.

• Prior work experience with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with the specific cultural needs and considerations of families from diverse backgrounds, particularly bilingual capabilities in Spanish or Portuguese, are a plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n
