Key Responsibilities\n

Your responsibilities as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Conducting psychosocial assessments to evaluate the emotional, social, and environmental factors impacting patients and their families, enabling targeted interventions.

• Formulating, developing, and implementing patient-specific social work treatment plans utilizing various evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

• Collaborating with the healthcare team—including physicians and nursing staff—to develop and implement comprehensive care strategies that involve patient and family participation.

• Facilitating effective discharge planning within a multidisciplinary care continuum by coordinating with other healthcare providers, insurance companies, and community resources.

• Providing education and counseling to patients and families to assist in adapting to the realities of illness, hospitalization, and changing life circumstances.

• Utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities, including crisis intervention, brief and long-term individual therapy, and group therapy sessions.

• Participating in an on-call rotation to address after-hour emergencies, ensuring continuous patient support as needed.

• Assessing oncology patients for mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety, offering timely short-term counseling to enhance their coping mechanisms.

• Delivering educational sessions and serving as a resource to colleagues and other professionals in psychosocial oncology practice.

• Engaging with the community through educational initiatives aimed at enhancing the awareness and availability of mental health resources for cancer survivors.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily serve a diverse patient population at our Boston community health clinic, where individuals face a variety of psychosocial issues, including those resulting from chronic illnesses, mental health disorders, and psychosocial stressors. Your role directly supports patients navigating the transitions associated with hospitalization and outpatient care, fostering resilience and promoting mental wellness.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary range between USD 70,000 and 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
