Key Responsibilities\n

As an LMFT at Focus Counseling, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting diagnostic evaluations and delivering short-term psychotherapy to individuals and groups, using various therapeutic approaches tailored to client needs.

• Utilizing telehealth platforms effectively, ensuring clients receive quality virtual therapy sessions while maintaining electronic health records.
\n
• Implementing evidence-based interventions, including but not limited to crisis intervention, brief therapy, stress management, couples counseling, and family therapy.
\n
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, including psychologists and nurse practitioners, to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for clients.
\n
• Engaging in clinical consultation with peers to discuss complex cases and foster a high standard of care.
\n
• Assisting clients in understanding their mental health challenges, coordinating care when necessary, and connecting them with community resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our practice serves a diverse spectrum of clients, including individuals with mental health disorders and dual diagnoses. Utilizing an outpatient modality and telehealth services, you'll engage with clients across age groups and backgrounds, providing essential therapy in a flexible and accessible manner. Your work will directly contribute to improved patient outcomes, utilizing your skills to help clients navigate and overcome life’s challenges.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or a Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D) in the state of New York.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in psychology, marriage and family therapy, or social work from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience providing psychotherapy services to clients.
\n
• Proficiency in utilizing telehealth technology and electronic health record systems.

Preferred Experience\n

While not required, candidates with the following experiences are preferred:

Focus Counseling offers a competitive salary range of USD 75,000 – 125,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include:
