Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed evaluations of patients, utilizing diagnostic tests to assess muscle, nerve, and joint functions, forming the foundation for individualized treatment plans.
• Design and implement effective physical therapy interventions aimed at enhancing mobility, reducing pain, and restoring functional capabilities as per physician prescriptions.
• Oversee and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants in executing care plans, ensuring quality delivery of therapy and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Administer various therapeutic techniques including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, traction, and modalities to complement rehabilitation efforts.
• Continuously monitor patient progress, documenting changes in condition and adjusting treatment strategies in collaboration with the care team and patient families.
• Conduct home assessments to recommend environmental modifications that promote patient independence and facilitate rehabilitation.
• Engage in case discussions with interdisciplinary teams, contributing insights to optimize overall patient treatment and recovery strategies.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions that require physical rehabilitation. Our outpatient clinic serves a diverse client base, including elderly patients needing assistance with mobility and active individuals aiming to regain their fitness levels. The role requires a compassionate touch, ensuring patients feel supported and empowered throughout their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid and active Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia.
• Demonstrable experience in various manual therapy modalities and proven ability to develop tailored exercise programs.

Preferred Experience

• A background in an outpatient setting is highly favored.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, particularly Web PT, for accurate patient documentation.
• Strong understanding of current physical therapy methodologies and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Compensation and Benefits
