Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will:

• Develop and implement customized therapy plans to prevent disability, relieve pain, and enhance muscle function for each patient in alignment with their personal capabilities.
• Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants, ensuring adherence to established care plans and treatment protocols.
• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess clients' functional abilities through diagnostic tests and analyses.
• Review clients' home environments to recommend modifications that promote their independence and rehabilitation.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, traction, massage, and other treatments according to physicians' prescriptions.
• Fit and adjust orthotic and prosthetic devices, and provide detailed recommendations to physicians as necessary.
• Regularly document and maintain accurate clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, providing insights during case conferences for holistic patient evaluations.
• Educate patients and their families about therapy methods, equipment use, and home-based rehabilitation strategies.
• Engage actively with patients to ensure a supportive and motivational environment, leading to better outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our services primarily focus on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries or injuries, including those with joint replacements, fractures, and post-operative rehabilitation needs. We cater to a diverse demographic that includes geriatric patients, athletes in recovery, and those seeking to improve their functional mobility in daily life. You will play a crucial role in facilitating their recovery and enhancing their quality of life.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid PT licensure in good standing for the state of New Jersey.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance to travel to patients' homes when necessary.
• A strong commitment to clinical excellence, compassionate care, and patient engagement.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain robust communication with clients and team members.

Preferred Experience

While one (1) year of experience in an acute care or home care setting is preferred, we welcome recent graduates eager to bring fresh perspectives to patient care. Candidates should demonstrate a capacity for critical thinking and problem-solving, especially in dynamic and challenging situations.
