Computer Service Technology: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit) San Diego Community College District Location: District Wide Position Type: Adjunct Position Details Opening: Open Until Filled Major Responsibilities Primary duties of adjunct faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Adjunct instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class. Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas. Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member. Teach all scheduled classes. Maintain accurate records. Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues. Minimum Qualifications Degrees from regionally accredited institutions. Any Bachelor’s degree AND two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; OR Any Associate degree AND six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; OR The equivalent of the above. Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff. Desired Qualifications California Community College Instructor Credential in Computer Science or Computer and Related Technologies (valid for life). Foreign Degree: Coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of NACES or ACEI; evaluation must be submitted with application. Prerequisites Prior to Employment Submit mandatory “official” transcripts. Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewed every 4 years). Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer and obtain clearance prior to first day of employment. Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States. Pay Information Salary is determined by the Adjunct College Salary Schedules and is contingent upon receipt of official transcripts or foreign degree evaluations.
