Full-Time Outpatient Physical Therapist - Rehabilitation Facility

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical capabilities and functional limitations using diagnostic tests and assessments.
• Design and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and enhancing muscle function.
• Supervise and guide Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) in delivering care, ensuring that therapy protocols are adhered to and modified as needed.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities, including manual techniques, traction, and the use of physical agents, to promote patient healing.
• Regularly monitor and assess patient progress, documenting and adjusting treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient feedback.
• Communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members as part of case conferences to align on treatment goals and modifications.
• Engage with patients and their families, educating them on treatment protocols, at-home care techniques, and the use of assistive devices.
• Maintain accurate clinical records including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct home evaluations to recommend modifications that enhance patient independence and safety.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, and injury rehabilitation. The diverse patient population may include adolescents, adults, and seniors with varying degrees of physical restrictions. You will work closely with patients to determine their unique needs, tailoring rehabilitation strategies that foster empowerment and independence.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of practical experience in a physical therapy setting, with a preference for candidates who have experience in outpatient or rehabilitation environments.
• Valid state licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in Florida.
• Current CPR certification to ensure patient safety.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient engagement and collaborative care.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in outpatient rehabilitation settings or similar environments.
• Knowledge of regulations and best practices within physical therapy and home healthcare.
• Experience in mentoring or supervising PTAs or rehabilitation interns.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt treatment methodologies based on patient progress and environmental factors.
