Work Environment\n

As a remote practice with a facility-based outpatient office, our work setting accommodates flexible working arrangements while fostering a strong team culture. You will have the opportunity to arrange consultations via teletherapy as well as in-person sessions, providing you a unique blend of both convenience and personal connection with your clients. Our practice hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend hours on a rotational basis to enhance accessibility for all clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients experiencing mood disorders, evaluating the severity, frequency, and duration of symptoms to determine the best course of treatment.

• Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that align with their individual needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals.

• Utilize proven therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address the unique challenges faced by those with mood disorders.

• Deliver psychoeducation and support to clients and their families, helping them to better understand mood disorders, treatment options, and necessary self-care strategies.

• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, making adjustments to the treatment plan in response to their evolving needs and challenges.

• Work in close collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the client’s care, integrating medical and therapeutic interventions effectively.

• Stay informed on the latest research and methodologies within the field of mood disorders to continuously improve therapeutic outcomes.

• Ensure accurate and confidential documentation of all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in regular case consultations and ongoing professional development to enhance clinical skills and contribute to best practices within the team.

• Advocate for clients, promoting awareness and understanding of mood disorders while working to remove the stigma associated with mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent in the state of New York.
