Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will primarily work onsite at our surgical center in Garland, Texas. Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant specializing in urology, you will be integral to patient care. Your daily activities will include:

• Conducting thorough patient interviews and gathering medical histories to understand their health needs.
• Performing physical examinations and interpreting diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
• Engaging in clinical trials focused on transrectal versus transperineal prostate biopsy, which includes recruiting participants, obtaining informed consent, and following up on their progress.
• Prescribing medications in accordance with established protocols and providing patient education on medication management.
• Documenting health assessments and ensuring follow-up plans are tailored to individual patient requirements.
• Liaising with primary care providers, nurse case managers, and other specialists to coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Serving as a mentor and resource for nursing staff and medical trainees.
• Managing schedules and coordinating complex treatment plans for patients.
• Triage incoming patient inquiries and follow-up on test results and clinical concerns.
• Consistently adhering to hospital policies and clinical guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be supporting a diverse patient population, encompassing individuals with various urologic conditions, from routine to complex cases. This role requires a commitment to quality care and the ability to effectively communicate with patients of all backgrounds, ensuring they are well-informed and supported throughout their treatment journey.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• Graduation from a recognized and accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas, with the ability to prescribe medications.
• Current CPR certification.
• Dedication to continuous professional development and maintaining current medical knowledge.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a surgical or urology-focused setting.
• Experience in conducting or participating in clinical trials is highly desirable, particularly in urologic research.
• Strong knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in medical documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
