Work Environment\n

This remote position allows therapists to provide in-home sessions while being supported by a dynamic team of professionals committed to youth development. Our outpatient office in Glendale will serve as a secondary location for group therapy sessions, fostering a safe and supportive environment for clients and their families. As a therapist, you will be required to manage your schedule effectively, with a focus on attending to clients during designated after-school hours.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or facilitate group therapy sessions at our outpatient facility.

• Implement evidence-based techniques to improve anger management, coping strategies, social skills, and reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.

• Work collaboratively with children and their caregivers to enhance decision-making skills that address in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Engage with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure coherent and comprehensive care plans.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and intake forms within established timelines.
\n
• Participate in monthly interdisciplinary meetings, contributing to case discussions and service recommendations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The therapist will primarily work with children aged 3-20, especially those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Your role will involve understanding the unique needs of this population, developing personalized strategies, and being a positive influence on their social and emotional development. You will also provide vital support to families in managing the challenges they face.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related discipline.

• An active and unrestricted licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) credential.

• Ability to commit to a minimum of 5-10 flexible hours per week, including after-school hours from 4-7 pm, with potential weekend availability being advantageous.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle to commute to client locations.
\n
• Successfully passing a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, as part of hiring requirements.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience in providing positive behavioral support and interventions.

• Proven track record of working with children, especially those who have developmental and intellectual disabilities.

• Bilingual skills in Spanish or Portuguese are highly desirable to support our diverse client base.

Compensation and Benefits\n
