Experienced Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology for Advanced Cardiac Care Center

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Brookhaven, NY. The work environment is dynamic, marked by collaboration between multidisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and administrative staff. Our facility features advanced technology to support outpatient cardiology services, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care. The NP will enjoy a structured work schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, without the burden of night shifts or weekend calls.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cardiologists to manage patients with conditions such as hypertension, high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, and congestive heart failure.
• Utilize your expertise to provide outpatient-only Electrophysiology services, including managing patients with abnormal electrocardiograms and arrhythmias.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including taking comprehensive histories and performing physical examinations, to guide effective treatment plans.
• Prescribe necessary medications and manage treatment modalities in alignment with clinical guidelines and standard practices.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding preventative measures, disease management, and lifestyle modifications.
• Perform stress testing and manage the care of patients post-procedure, ensuring quality follow-up and support.
• Facilitate referrals to specialists within the practice as necessary to ensure continuity of care.
• Engage in professional development and stay current with best practices in cardiology through continuous education and communication with peers.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The NP will primarily serve patients from Brookhaven and surrounding communities, aged 18 and beyond, who present with a variety of cardiovascular conditions. This role demands a compassionate approach to patient care, focusing on understanding individual patient needs while adopting evidence-based practices tailored to each unique case.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program with valid certification in the specialty area.
• Current, unrestricted nurse practitioner license in New York.
• Completion of an accredited program pertinent to the needs of cardiology.

Preferred Experience

While we welcome applications from both experienced Nurse Practitioners and recent graduates, candidates with prior experience in cardiology—either in an inpatient or outpatient setting—will be given preference. Familiarity with cardiology tools and protocols, such as telemetry monitoring and electrophysiological assessment, will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
