Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and perform diagnostic tests on patients presenting with cardiac issues, interpreting results to diagnose conditions effectively.
• Develop and implement patient-centric treatment plans in collaboration with cardiologists and healthcare teams, ensuring that all strategies are aimed at optimizing cardiovascular health.
• Engage with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and interventions, tailoring discussions to their individual health literacy levels.
• Monitor and document patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on clinical assessments and patient feedback.
• Provide guidance on preventative cardiology measures, including lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and symptom management.
• Facilitate educational sessions for patients and their families, focusing on managing heart conditions and promoting heart-healthy practices.
• Participate in regular case conferences and team meetings to discuss complex cases and share insights about best practices in cardiology.
• Stay informed about advancements in cardiology practices evidence-based treatments, integrating new research into patient care methodologies as appropriate.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse patient population, including individuals with chronic cardiovascular conditions, those recovering from heart surgeries, and patients seeking preventative care. This role requires empathy, understanding, and the capacity to modify communication styles to suit the varying needs of patients.

Qualifications

• A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on cardiology or completion of a Family Nurse Practitioner program that includes cardiology coursework.
• Certification as a Cardiology Certified Nurse Practitioner (CCNP) by the Cardiology Nursing Certification Board (CNBC).
• A minimum of two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in cardiology, primary care, or a related healthcare field.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and clinical skills, with a strong ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
• Capability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of professionals.

Preferred Experience

While not required, experience with electronic health record systems and familiarity with cardiology-specific software and treatment protocols will be considered an advantage. Those with a background in telehealth services or remote patient monitoring will also be given preference.
