Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and screenings for students to identify their mental health concerns, determining personalized intervention strategies based on these evaluations.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that address the individual mental health challenges of students, while regularly adjusting strategies based on progress and feedback.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches, enhancing students’ coping strategies and emotional awareness.

• Collaborate with school staff, including teachers and counselors, as well as other mental health professionals such as psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive support system for each student.

• Educate and involve families in the treatment process, fostering understanding and cooperation in supporting their child's mental health journey.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with regulatory and ethical standards, ensuring compliance and facilitating effective interdisciplinary collaboration.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Prosperity Medical Group, you will primarily work with school-aged clients, ranging from elementary to high school students. This role focuses on addressing a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and developmental disorders, through culturally competent counseling and engagement strategies. You will understand the unique pressures faced by adolescents today and be prepared to navigate the complexities that come with working in a school setting.

Qualifications\n

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of two years of professional experience in mental health counseling, particularly in settings working with youth.

• A demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practices and interventions for various mental health disorders, emphasizing developmental and behavioral challenges faced by students.

• Strong therapeutic, counseling, and communication skills essential for connecting with youth and their families.

• Proficient in using virtual therapy platforms and maintaining client confidentiality in remote settings.
