Junior Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnered with a growing professional services organization in New York City to hire a Junior Staff Accountant. This is an open-ended contract opportunity with the potential to convert to a permanent position. We are seeking a candidate with experience in cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting. Responsibilities Manage daily cash activity, banking transactions, and wire transfers Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, cash application, and account reconciliations Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger activity, and assist with month-end close Perform bank reconciliations and support financial reporting and analysis Review expense reports, assist with audits, and resolve accounting-related inquiries Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2+ years of accounting experience with exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, Dynamics 365, or similar platforms Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities Schedule 4 days per week in office, 1 day remote Typical schedule is 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional overtime as needed $27-35/hr Pay Details: $27.00 to $35.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
