This position is entirely remote, offering flexibility while also requiring significant interaction with law enforcement agencies and community organizations. As an integral part of the team, you will often accompany police officers on mental health calls, providing on-the-scene support during crucial moments. Key Responsibilities\n

• Assist law enforcement officers in conducting psychiatric evaluations that determine the necessity for involuntary detention under sections 5150/5585.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records to comply with health regulations and ensure quality care.
\n
• Collaborate with law enforcement during mental health responses, providing expertise and support in managing crisis situations.
\n
• Facilitate effective communication with various stakeholders, including law enforcement personnel, hospital staff, and psychiatrists, to ensure seamless support for patients.

• Conduct training sessions for police staff on recognizing and effectively responding to mental health crises, aimed at reducing the need for force and improving outcomes for individuals in distress.

• Deliver short-term crisis counseling to non-violent individuals experiencing acute mental health episodes, assisting them toward stabilization and connection to further resources.

The primary clientele for this role includes arrestees experiencing mental health issues and community members seeking assistance in crisis situations. You will engage with individuals of diverse backgrounds, requiring cultural competence and a deep understanding of various mental health conditions. Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field.

• Current LPCC licensure is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from USD 52,000 to 70,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
