Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the distinctive challenges faced by older adults, ensuring that individual circumstances are at the forefront of every evaluation.

• Develop, implement, and monitor personalized treatment plans that integrate medical history, cognitive status, and social context, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic methodologies.

• Provide individual and family therapy sessions, employing techniques that address the psychological and emotional needs of elderly patients experience psychiatric issues.

• Work closely with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care, share insights, and optimize treatment strategies tailored to each patient.

• Deliver crisis intervention services when necessary, offering immediate support to elderly patients in mental health emergencies.

• Educate patients and families about mental health issues, available treatment options, and community resources for ongoing support.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with legal standards and ethical practices using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Participate actively in case consultations, professional development workshops, and continuous education initiatives, remaining well-informed about current best practices in geriatric mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, addressing complex mental health needs that include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety disorders, cognitive impairments, and biopsychosocial adjustments associated with aging. You will be instrumental in helping elderly clients navigate these challenges, empowering them and their families to find effective solutions and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.

• Strong foundational knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities specific to elderly patients.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and a patient-centered approach to therapy, ability to build rapport with older adults and their families.

• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure proper documentation and compliance.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing positively to both team dynamics and patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is preferred, we value demonstrated competencies and a strong commitment to the geriatric patient population. Experience providing therapy to older adults and a solid understanding of their unique psychiatric needs are highly beneficial.

Willow Counseling Center offers a competitive salary range of USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
