Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant ICU RN - $32-48 per hour

Job Summary BJC HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for an ICU – Intensive Care Unit in Valley Park, Missouri. This ongoing staff position is part‑time, nights (days available with 5+ years ICU experience), at Unit 7800 located in Parkview Tower on BJH North Campus. Overview Division 7800 ICU is an Oncology designated 25‑bed Intensive Care Unit, with 10 beds dedicated to oncology and bone marrow transplant patients. Nurses provide care to critically ill oncology, bone marrow transplant, and post‑surgical ICU patients. The unit is part of a multidisciplinary team including oncology nurses, physicians, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, case managers, social workers, spiritual care, pharmacy, and psycho‑social support. Professional nursing growth and development are encouraged through the Nursing Resident Program, Career Ladder Program, mock CODEs, educational opportunities, and certification preparation (CCRN, OCN, BMTNC). Role Purpose Provide direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on managing their illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team members and patient, family, or caregiver. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Maintains constant state of alertness and work in a safe manner as a safety‑sensitive position.
